Known as “The Oracle of Omaha,” Warren Buffett is generally recognized as the most successful investor of the 20th century. As CEO and primary shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett earned his place on the List of Billionaires the day that his company began publicly trading Class A stocks.

Prior to his billionaire status, Buffett enjoyed nearly 40 years of business success. By the time he was 20, he had already saved almost $10,000. Adjusted for inflation, this amount is nearly $100,000.

In 1988, Buffett bought 7% of the Coca-Cola Company for $1.02 billion. This would prove to be one of his most lucrative investments.

Warren Buffett is well known for his philanthropy. He has signed a pledge, along with Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, to donate most of his wealth to charity. Buffett has gone beyond the pledge to say he will give away 99% of his fortune, primarily through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
