#5 Larry Ellison
Ellison is worth $49.6 billion. He is the CEO and founder of the hardware and software corporation Oracle. The outspoken billionaire isn’t shy about discussing his competitors. After his friend Steve Job’s passing, he expressed that Apple’s best days were behind them. He also called Google evil, in reference to the company’s alleged infringement on Android software.
#4 Amancio Ortega
Ortega is the co-founder of Inditex. He’s worth $62.9 billion. The Spanish billionaire is responsible for brands such as Zara. Although he stepped down as chairman of Inditex in 2011, he still owns almost 60% of its shares. He is also involved in real estate, owning buildings in Madrid, London and New York.
#3 Warren Buffet
Buffet is 83 years old and still making earth-shattering business deals as the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. The household name is worth $65.1 billion. His investments include H.J. Heinz and Exxon Mobil.
#2 Carlos Slim Helu & family
Helu made headlines when he knocked out Bill Gates, becoming the world’s richest and staying there for four years. His mining company Minera Frisco has had some issues as of late, dropping by more than 50%. His net worth is currently $70.6 billion.
#1 Bill Gates
As Helu’s mining company dips, Microsoft’s Bill Gates makes his comeback with a net worth of $77.4 billion. The famously rich philanthropist stepped down as chairman of Microsoft but remains one of the most powerful men in the world.
