Born in the former Soviet Union, Sergey Brin moved to the United States when he was just six. University of Maryland granted him his Bachelors in math and computer science. Afterwards, he began work on a computer science PhD at Stanford University. Larry Page was also studying at Stanford. The two of them hit it off as they shared intellectual interests and similar brainstorming prowess. Collecting computers, the two of them tried to create an amazing search program by utilizing a data mining system invented by Brin. That program is today known as Google. They invented Google in their dorms and started the company in a garage.
Neither man completed their degrees at that time and instead dropped out to raise their brainchild. Mikhaylovich is known for his fascination with learning and knowledge, a personality trait that The Economist noted when they dubbed him an “enlightened man.”
