Brazilian Marcel Herrmann Telles is a business tycoon who made his fortune through his shrewd professional ventures. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Brazil at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and obtained a degree in business from Harvard University. Early in his career, from 1974 to 1998, he was a partner in Garantia Merchant Bank (prior to its merger with Credit Suisse First Boston). He’s been a Board Member of Burker King and Lojas Americanas. He also had his hand in the equity business; he served as a partner for GP Investimentos, which he held until 2004.
When Telles is not diving off the coast of Monaco, this billionaire (worth $6.3 billion) is working on his investments in a variety of industries such as finance, retail, food, and beverage. He helped grow the equity of the AB InBev by a whopping $1 billion. He’s often worked with fellow billionaires Jorge Paulo Lemann and Carlos Alberto Sicupiara. The three of them control an investment firm called 3G Capital. Through the firm, they have significant control over Burger King and Anheuser-Busch InBev.
