Len Blavatnik is an investor and entrepreneur. Born in Ukraine in 1957, Blavatnik later moved to the United States. As of early 2013, he had an estimated net worth of $16 billion. He received his undergraduate degree at the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering. After this, he studied for a Masters in computer science at Colombia University and then obtained a second graduate degree, this time an MBA, at the Harvard Business School.
He is the founder of Access Industries, which he opened in 1986. Currently, he is the company’s chairman of the board and its president. It is an industrial organization that has investments on almost every continent. Access Industries works in metals, fossil fuels, property, and media. Most of Blavatnik’s vast wealth comes from this wide variety of investments in multiple industries in Europe and the Americas.
